Now has never been a better time for tech employees at the retail giant Amazon to purchase a home on the eastside, specifically Bellevue. With their recent team expansion announcement, Amazon continues to grow their reach in Bellevue in their newest 354,000-square foot building. Known as the Centre 425 building, the recently leased building is a “major expansion across Lake Washington from its Seattle headquarters”.

The ever-growing company is returning to its roots as the original office was once located in a Bellevue neighborhood. Situated next to the newly constructed Lincoln Square South in the Bellevue Mall area, the newest development in Bellevue is not “a one-off, and Amazon is looking for even more office space in downtown Bellevue and surrounding areas” claims GeekWire. Amazon has announced the expansion will host teams for Amazon Devices, Amazon Web Services, Amazon Alexa, and the Lab126 hardware engineering unit.

Ranked one of the best places to live in the State of Washington by Niche based on “data points like school quality, housing trends, employment, crime stats, and access to amenities to evaluate a community”, Bellevue continues to thrive and be a desirable location.

Amazon joins a growing list of companies with residence both in Seattle and on the Eastside. With Seattle being named the second top tech State in the United State, Bellevue residents can expect to see additional companies follow suit as they aim to “access talent around the region as commuting between Seattle and Bellevue becomes increasingly more difficult”.
